Variator V-belts

Variator belts are used for drives and gearboxes with continuous change
speed. Variator pulleys are able, thanks to the relative motion of the

or electronically. The belts are manufactured in a cut version with reinforced
construction against transverse stresses. This results in excellent flexibility
and transverse stiffness in the pulleys even with continuous changes in the belt diameter.
The belts are suitable for all drives with a requirement for continuous
speed variation depending on the magnitude of the transmitted power. For example, for
machine tools, transport equipment (scooters, quad bikes) and agricultural
and garden machinery.

Measurement and marking of belts according to
various standards
Variator belts are manufactured according to 3 different standards worldwide. And in each
standard prescribes different belt markings. So how do the different designations
in the different labels?
DIN 7719/1
The profile of a belt is indicated by its outer dimensions b x h in mm. The length of the belt is
The side angle is between 24° and 30° depending on the profile.
Example marking: 26 x 8 x 1000 Li
ISO standard 1604
The belt profile is marked with the letter 'W' and a number indicating the calculated width
bw in mm. The length of the belt is given in Lw (calculated circumference) in mm.
ranges from 24° to 30° depending on the profile.
Example designation: W25 1000 (which is actually 26 x 8 x 962 Li according to DIN)
US Standard RMA/MPTA
The belt profile is marked with a 4-digit number. The first 2 numbers indicate the width b in 1/16 inch. Next
2 numbers indicate the angle of the profile sides. At the end of the designation after the separating letter "V"
indicates the length of the belt in Lw (computed circumference) in 1/10 inch (inch = 2.54 mm).
Example marking: 3226V603 = W50 1530 according to ISO = 52 x 16 x 1455 Li according to DIN
