PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), commonly known as Teflon, is a high-performance material known for its excellent chemical resistance and thermal stability. Its low friction resistance and non-stick properties make PTFE ideal for use in applications where minimal friction and resistance to a wide range of aggressive chemicals are required. PTFE is also highly resistant to high temperatures and has an extremely low permeability to gases. O-rings made from PTFE are therefore suitable for demanding applications where standard elastomers fail.

Resilience:

Excellent resistance to: Virtually all chemicals, high temperatures, low temperatures, UV, ozone, weathering and aging.
Not resistant to: Strong alkalis at high temperatures, some fluorinated compounds.

Temperature range of use: -200°C to +260°C, with short-term resistance up to +300°C.
