The clamping sleeve is inserted into the cylindrical hole in the hub of the clamping element and slipped onto the shaft. As the mounting bolts are tightened, the sliding cones act on each other to expand the walls of the housing and exert a clamping pressure on the shaft and hub.The RCK 40 compact housing is suitable for medium torque transmission in general applications. The housing is not self-centering. For good centering, the sleeve must be well seated radially. It works similarly to the RCK 45 bushing.
